Navne og associationer

der sidder mange dygtige folk verden over og spekulerer på og i, hvad produkter skal hedde. Det helt rigtigt navn er forskellen mellem succes og glemsel. Et firma- eller produktnavn skal kunne huskes.

Nogle gange husker man de forskellige ting fordi det er er sjovt navn, andre gange fordi det giver os billeder i hovedet, eller hvis man tænker over hvad navnet egentlig betyder, kan det sætte tankerækker af divergerende længde igang.

 

Eks – hvem af os tænker ikke Waltzing Mathilda når man ser et navn som

Billabong Cap? Eller ser Tom Selleck for sig med en meget langløbet riffel som kan skyde hul i en spand på mere end en kilometers afstand når man ser navnet Quiksilver Boots? Og hvad med en Konrad Hue? Konrad er da et udmærket navn, hvorfor mon der ikke er flere der hedder det, når nu de gamle pigenavne som Alma, Asta, Emma osv er så moderne?

 

Der er dog også en anden måde at få folk til at huske navne på – nemlig at gøre folk helt usikre på hvordan de skal udtales. Der er et stort byggefirma herhjemme hvis navn jeg simpelhen ikke logisk kan finde ud af, hvordan udtales. Jeg har faktisk gjort det, at jeg 3 gange har henvendt mig til folk med navnet på ryggen og spurgt dem – med det resultat at jeg fik 3 forskellige svar, og derfor ikke er blevet spor klogere – men jeg er ganske sikker på, at hvis jeg en dag skal have noget renoveret eller bygge mit eget hus, så er det dem, som springer først ind i mit hovede, og dem jeg vil kontakte – måske kan jeg så endelig få navnet udtalt korrekt…
